RESTLESS NATIVE: CATAMARAN RIDE IN BERMUDA

Is anyone else dreaming of vacationing on an island? I know I am! My last “real” vacation was a cruise to Bermuda in August 2019. It’s crazy to think the trip was that long ago! While in Bermuda, I got to experience so many amazing things on and about the island. One of my favorites was a catamaran ride on the Restless Native.

The Restless Native is Bermuda’s only locally built day charter catamaran, and it’s hot pink! Aboard, we sailed the beautiful and calm Bermudian water while a crew member entertained us with stories of the island’s history, culture, and unique ocean life.

When we reached our destination, King’s Point at the coast of Mangrove Bay, everyone was able to do what they pleased! The catamaran offered a prime spot to sunbathe, swim noodles, snorkel gear, stand up paddle boards, and kayaks. Snorkeling in the cove with rainbow fish and sea turtles was such an awesome experience. The turtles were so cute!

While relaxing in the water, we were served freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and Bermuda’s infamous Rum Swizzles (pineapple and orange juice rum punch).

After a couple of hours, we partied our way (with rum swizzles and catchy music) back to the Royal Naval Dockyard.

Restless Native offers many different excursion packages. My group experienced Sail & Snorkel for the Cure which was a total of 3.5 hours, including two hours at the cove. One of the amazing aspects of this option is that a portion of each ticket is donated to Bermuda Cancer & Health Centre.

If you’re traveling to Bermuda, you have to book a catamaran ride! My only wish was that our ride was longer, but that gives me all the more incentive to go back and do it again!
